Marvin Edeas - Oysters and Peptides Derived from Hydrolysates Modulate Oxidative Stress

Marvin Edeas ( has successfully distinguished two Nrf-2 modulators separated from proteins and peptides, which can activate the antioxidant system of defence. His patents had to do with the use of an oyster enzyme hydrolyzate in a composition that modulates oxidative stress and eradicates free radicals. In the United States and Europe, Marvin Edeas has filed two patents.

Marvin Edeas works at Paris Descartes University, CNRS and INSERM in the Development, Reproduction, Cancer Department. Bringing in more than 400 people, he chaired the Scientific Committee at the Targeting Microbiota and Mitochondria Congress of 2016. The effects of inflammation and oxidative stress in chronic diseases is an area his research centres on. Marvin Edeas holds clinical studies in nephrology patients and assesses the effects of microbiota metabolites on mitochondrial activity of these patients.

ISANH, the SFA and Marvin Edeas aim to transfer basic research to real-world applications whether clinical, pharmaceutical, nutritional or cosmetic. Via the SFA, he promotes collaboration and exchanges between biologists, researchers, doctors and industrialists, etc. Scientific studies on microbiota and inflammation, cell signalling, the stimulation of Nrf2 transcription factors and their significance in various pathologies are the main focus of Marvin Edeas’ work. The relationship between microbiota and mitochondria is his focus.

Back in the 1990s, Marvin Edeas carried out extensive research on the AIDS virus. Back when the very first clinical study which looked into the effects of antiretroviral therapy on hyperlactatemia and lactic acidosis occurred, he took part. He highlighted the role of oxidative stress and co-infections in HIV patients at the Paris Descartes University. For his efforts with HIV, Marvin Edeas was recognised by Sidaction.

Marvin Edeas - A Globally Acknowledged Scientist

Marvin Edeas collaborates with Krakow, Poland's National Science Center, the Agency of Biomedicine and the Agency for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (AERES). The worldwide conference termed Targeting Microbiota and Mitochondria is chaired by him. Countless firms utilise the expertise that Marvin Edeas possesses.

In addition to his own writings, the research conducted by Marvin Edeas is very often the subject of reports in the press. Several books and publications have been authored by him. Back in 2015, Marvin Edeas wrote two works of reference on the subject of mitochondrial medicine.
