A while back, after making up my first Bad (Yankee) Juju Voodoo Doll, a co-worker of my friend Erin requested one for her hubby as a stocking stuffer.
For whatever reason, I kept pushing it to the bottom of the knitting list until finally, after multiple requests/naggings/urgings from Erin, I was inspired to get it done last week. I have my reasons for the sudden inspiration and that will be another post entirely! I started it Thursday night and finished it off on Saturday.
I made a few minor modifications to this second incarnation of Bad Juju. I did this one Magic Loop instead of DPN’s. MUCH easier. I also stitched down the edges of the Spankee logo to make sure it stays on. The last modification was on his noose, this one is a 2-stitch i-cord. Much neater looking. Everything else was the same, right down to the little baseballs under the cross-stitches for eyes.
All in all, I’m really pleased with it and I can only hope that it’s new owner has as much fun with this one as I had with mine last season! It was so much fun stabbing it with DPN’s and whacking it around during Spankee games.
Pattern: Bad Juju by Zabet Stewart
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft
Needle: US3 Addi Turbo, 40″
Misc.: Scrapbook kit for NY Yankees, polyfill stuffing
Maybe we’ll have an army of Bad Yankee Juju voodoo dolls for next season? 2 months and 5 days till pitchers and catchers report…
Have a great day!
Bethe
