Pardon Me, Have You Seen My Mojo?

July 17th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Because it seems to be missing. I speculated yesterday that my mojo may have taken off for cooler surroundings. I think I may have hit the nail on the head.

It’s been so damn hot in my house that I can’t stand to knit more than a round or so at any given sitting. It’s so effing hot that I don’t even miss not being able to knit. How twisted is that?

(You may be wondering why my house is staying so hot when it has cooled, albeit slightly, over the past few days…To put it bluntly, my landlady is cheap, lazy, and crazy. In that order. She doesn’t like to fix things, and that includes replacing my broken down storm windows that are barely clinging to the house and would not be able to support even the smallest of my 3 window air conditioners. (rant over)

I have, however, been able to tolerate spinning when I have my turbo fan firmly in place

First off the bobbins and into a hot bath to be abused, Spunky Eclectic South African Fine in the Pink Lemonade colorway:

Pink-Lemonade
(I know the pictures says 4 ozs. It’s wrong and I’m too lazy to change it.)

It came out to be around 344 yards. I think I’ll make a Baby Surprise Jacket out of this.

Next up is the June Fiber Club selection, Tulip:

I have no idea what I’m going to do with this…any suggestions? I really need to start, you know, actually knitting with my handspun.

Gratuitous stash enhancement pr0n from The Knitting and Crochet show in Manchester coming soon to a monitor near you. I may have bought a book or a ten recently too.

As a matter of fact, I AM still having fun with my new photo editing software, why do you ask? ;)

Oh, and if you happen to spot my mojo, possibly lounging on the beach with a Watermelon Cosmo, would you please tell it to come home? (and make sure to bring a drink back for me)

Keep cool!

that pink lemonade is wonderful! very cheery! hope you’ve cooled down a little - at least the nights have been better for open window sleeping!

Funny, when it’s that hot, I’d rather knit something cotton than try to spin wool! As always your hand spun looks great!
