Well, technically it’s finished.
Sleeves attatched. Ends woven in. Hood (ahem) grafted together.
I say technically because I don’t consider it done. Yet. As you can see:

the grafting on the hood looks like ass. While I am sure this is strictly operater error (i.e.: my less-than-stellar grafting “skills”), I just can’t see how this would ever look good…I am going to undo it YET AGAIN. Tomorrow. This time I am going to bind off the live stitches and just sew them to the side of the cable. I am counting on blocking to help ease the small gaps and flatten out the fabric that the double decreases seem to have caused. I am not quite as concerned about the bulging anymore since last night Erin took a picture of the top of the hood with my head in it and the bulges fill out nicely when the hood is up.
Other than that, it’s perfect. (Well, almost. We won’t speak of the cables that twist in the wrong direction. I left it because I made the mistake twice, so at least I was consistent and it’s symmetrical. Therefore it’s a design modification, right?)
Here’s the rest of it (pre-blocking):

The hood:

There are more fugly pics of my craptastic hood finishing “skills” in my Rogue Set on flickr.
Here are the stats:
Started: September 1, 2006
Finished: September 25, 2006
Yarn Used: Rowan Cork
Color: Sour
Needles: Addi Turbo, 40″, Sizes 7 & 9
I was almost exactly at the specified gauge even though this yarn is bulker than the aran weight the pattern called for. The tiny bit of extra room I got by using the bulkier yarn makes it an absolutely perfect fit. I’m happy with the fabric I got and the cables really pop. The color is fantastic and I’m tickled that I had enough of this stuff, at such a great price, to do this project. I never could have done this sweater in Cork otherwise.
Have a great day!

Congrats on Rogue, it does look fabulous. I do hope you can figure out how to make the hood look like you want it. And yes! 23 days till Rhinebeck!

Gorgeous!! Ok, best grafting directions ever are in the Knitter’s Companion. You can even go search it on amazon for kichener and test drive the directions.

Your Rogue is a GREAT color! Good luck with the grafting. When I finally get around to knitting Rogue, I’ll probably cop out and do a three-needle-bindoff. It interrupts the gorgeous cables, I know, but life is just too short.
Thanks for your advice on knitting-in-court. Since you had two different outcomes, it sounds like it’s up to the individual security screener… ugh.

You know, do the grafting one more time, and then just…wear the damn thing. It’s gorgeous, and who is going to be inspecting the top of your head?

You will bring this on Wednesday? I promise to be there see it “live”. I agree with Chris, the best grafting instructions are in the Knitting Companion. And you knit this in 24 days? You are a madwoman…

Bethe! In awe of Rogue! You know I will need your help on that hood - yours looks fantastic! I just ripped out 13 rows of the nexk last night on the front - GD’ed dropped stitch! I fixed the drop, then was off a stitch - so I played it safe, used the life line and started over to make sure the center was REALLY the center. GRRR.
I MUST finish Rogue soon. See you Weds.

Lovely Rogue! I just finished the knitting on mine and decided to see if any other wordpressers had knit it, and came across your post. I really like how it looks in the Cork!
